2009/11/24 Six Resume Must-Haves for CPAs1. IFRS – With FASB and IASB reaffirming their commitment to a common set of global accounting standards, U.S. adoption of IFRS is a foregone conclusion. Demonstrating fluency now is a sure way to get a recruiter’s attention. 2. SEC – As the effort to overhaul the nation’s financial regulatory regime heats up, the quickest way to the top of the resume pile is to demonstrate regulatory knowledge and expertise. Citing relevant accounting standards such as FAS 149 will help your resume stand out. 3. Big Firm Experience – Big firm experience conveys that you are well-trained and have met the rigorous hiring standards employed by first tier firms. 4. Computer Software Experience – The days of quill and ledger are long past. Calling attention to computer skills related to ERP, audit and tax software and analytics packages such as SAS, ACL and IDEA is a good way to get noticed. 5. Numbers – Accountants deal in numbers. Be sure to quantify your accomplishments wherever possible. Use hard numbers, rather than eloquent descriptions to convey your worth. 6. Customer Service Skills – Client retention is essential. Accounting firms are looking for employees who can connect with their clients and build client loyalty. AMEN!
教练说每周做2次,"you can be just like me.",下面接茬说: "you mean the color?"

2008/8/18 Dragon Boat Hit Deloittnet
Deloitte Dragons participate in the annual Boston Dragon Boat Festival
Imagine 20 Deloitte professionals, representing AERS, Audit, Consulting, FAS, and Tax, all together in one place. But this is no engagement team, nor is it a brainstorming session for a client proposal. What brought these 20 professionals together is a boat … a Dragon boat.
Dragon boat racing is a sport that evolved from a water ritual in China thousands of years ago, to a sport that is growing in popularity and hosted by many cities around the world.
This summer, for the second year in a row, the “Deloitte Dragons” participated in the annual Boston Dragon Boat Festival. The Festival showcased an array of traditional and contemporary performing arts, cultural customs, and cuisine from Asia and the Pacific.
A total of 31 teams competed in the event, some coming from as far away as New York, Toronto, and Montreal, along with several club and corporate teams in Boston.
The Deloitte Dragons hit the water hard, shaving 16 seconds off their time trial average to win its first heat. The second heat came with a bit of pressure, where teams had to place first in order to move on to the finals. Riding high from their first win, the team came through and posted a first place finish to earn a spot in the finals for the corporate division.
The team was caught off guard in the finals with a quick sound of the horn from race officials. Even with the sluggish start, the team was able to catch up with the other boats, finishing the race just 2 seconds back from the group winner. The Deloitte Dragons went on to finish 6th overall in the corporate division.
Team Captain David Rule said, “Part of what makes dragon boating fun is it brings together a great and diverse group of people to compete and enjoy with a strong team spirit and sportsmanship. In true Deloitte tradition, the team did amazingly well for the mixture of experiences that it came with, putting their hearts and souls into the water, knowing that it was anyone's game and yet pulling away some amazing races, and outdoing their own expectations.”
Special thanks to Boston Asian Pacific Employee Network (APEN), Deloitte FAS partners, and volunteers for making this year’s event happen.

Check!
GRE->TOEFL->GMAT->CPA
This should be an end of the exam era. I've got to catch up with life now.
